Server Rental, Maintenance, Hosting and Bandwidth

A complete web hosting package! This all-inclusive option includes:

Server Rental Agreement: for server rental of a high-performance Sun SPARCStation system for your exclusive use - one customer, one server.
Complete Hardware Maintenance: we remain responsible for server maintenance at all times. We carry a large stock of spares for our systems (and even have spare systems available) so can get your server back online as soon as possible after a hardware fault.
Software Systems Administration: Installation and maintenance of the Solaris operating system and other system software, and 24/7 access to technical support staff via toll-free telephone or e-mail.
Hosting at our Server Farm: Rack space for your system at our Washington DC location, complete with UPS and generator power backup, and tape backup of your data.
Bandwidth:  measured traffic hosting on a switched 10Mbps LAN, connected to a full dual DS-3 connection running at 68Mbps.

1GB/day data transfer Included

These will either be new or reconditioned systems, always with new drives. You will have full, exclusive access to the server and full root access. The above rate includes all hardware maintenance, nightly backup of your data, and access to systems administration staff 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Hardware upgrades are available with the package at 20% of cost setup, then 10% per month, and includes full maintenance. Alternatively you can install your own hardware upgrades at cost, but these are excluded from our maintenance agreement.

example: you rent a Sparc 2 and use 1500MB/day traffic on average - your monthly charge will be $400 + (0.5 x $250) = $525/mo

Traffic usage is measured daily and averaged over a month.

If you want a package which includes a set amount of bandwidth per month so you can better plan your expenses, this is available at 75% of the pro-rata amount. For example, if you want to have up to 2GB/day included, this would cost $150/mo. Bandwidth above this amount would be charged at the pro-rata rate.

10 IP numbers are included in the basic package.

Ten accounts on our dedicated Verisign-certificated secure server are included in the basic package.  Each additional IP number above 10 entitles the user to one more free account on the secure server. You can alternatively run your own SSL server on your machine, for which you will need your own Verisign certificate(s).

Each system comes with up to 3 hours non-essential system administration per month included in the package.

Backups are performed nightly, and weekly backups are stored in a secure fireproof safe off-site.

The minimum contract length is 3 months, with 30 days notice thereafter. Payment is month-to-month, with setup due on order, and first month’s payment on handover of server to customer. Delivery and installation of system is normally within 2 weeks.
